Fertility Specialist and Obstetrician/Gynaecologist

Joo performs laparoscopic surgery for fertility and gynaecology patients; he completed the UK Royal College advanced training in gynaecology surgery & laparoscopy. For male subfertility, he performs microsurgical sperm retrieval using a surgical microscope; this method is known to retrieve a higher quantity of good quality sperms. Joo also has a special interest in looking after and delivering obstetrics patients, especially women in their pregnancies after assisted conception. Although Joo has a considerable experience in performing Caesarean sections including technically complicated cases, he strongly believes women aiming to have natural births should be given the maximal chances to achieve vaginal births safely.

He has presented internationally, and has won several prizes for his research work. He also has a Master of Science in Clinical Trials from the University of London. He has written a chapter in the book on the Clinical Management of Pregnancies Following Fertility Treatment.
Joo is a regular contributor to articles related to women's health, fertility and obstetrics internationally. He has been interviewed by the New York Times on the availability of fertility services in countries with limited resources.
Joo relocated with his family to Perth, Australia in early 2015. He prides himself in providing a personalised, patient-centred care & support. He continues his research interest in fertility, and also in obstetrics and gynaecology in Australia. He speaks fluent Mandarin, Hokkien, Cantonese and Malay (Bahasa Melayu).
Integrative Psychiatrist
Dr Sanjeev Sharma trained in India and worked in the National Insititute of Mental Health and Neuroscience (NIMHANS) in Bangalore, India. In 2002 he located to Perth, Australia and completed his Fellowship at The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) in 2011. He worked at Royal Perth Hospital across various streams, and continues to work in critical sites within the public sector, whilst also operating a dedicated private practice at Abbotsford Psychiatry in Perth.
Dr Sharma is currently in the final stages of completing his Fellowship in Addiction Medicine from the Royal College of Physcians Australia , Fellowship of Australian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine and Masters in Clinical Nutrition.
Guided by an approach that utilises aspects of both eastern and western medicine, Dr.Sharma has extensive expertise in the application of holistically based treatments. He firmly believes in working from a healing philosophy that considers each patient a unique individual, and deems that any treament plan should reflect this reality. As a result, Dr.Sharma’s treatment approach integrates positive aspects of medical/psychiatric techniques with holistic strategies. This may involve removal of certain foods from the patient’s diet, making changes in their environment (to avoid toxin exposure), adding nutraceuticals (e.g. vitamins, trace minerals, amino acid, and essential fatty acids), as well as rectifying any physiological imbalance.
While some of the therapies used may appear to be nonconventional, Dr.Sharma applies a highly integrative approach, with adherence to scientific standards of supportive evidence. This integrative approach creates a therapeutic partnership between the doctor and patient, whereby the patient is empowered to take ownership of their wellbeing. When patients are active participants in formulating their individual therapeutic plan, this greatly increases the likelihood of a successful and sustainable outcome.
