Upon opening:
Before first use, bloom the whisk by soaking it in hot water to allow the tines to unfurl, approximately 5 minutes fully. This softens the bamboo and helps preserve the delicate tines.
Before each use:
• Soak the whisk briefly in warm water to protect and soften the tines
• This ensures flexibility and prevents breakage during whisking
Preparing your matcha:
• Sift 1 teaspoon of matcha into your matcha bowl
• Add a dash of hot, not boiling, water — ideally 78°C / 172°F
Avoid boiling water, as it can burn the matcha and create a bitter taste
• Whisk briskly in a zig-zag motion (think W or M) until a light, delicate foam forms on the surface
• Top up with 1 cup of hot water to enjoy straight, or add your choice of hot or cold milk for a matcha latte
Aftercare:
• Rinse the whisk thoroughly with warm water after each use
